20590 Bongiovanni (1999 RN172) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on September 9, 1999 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research Team at Socorro.
20590 Bongiovanni was named after Brice Bongiovanni after winning second place in the 2004 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair for his behavioral and social sciences team project. His partner, Sameer Gupta, is the namesake of asteroid 20591 Sameergupta.
